The reason certainly isn’t her cheating (the opponents do not cheat, as I seem to be endlessly explaining) so maybe the reason is that you are a hopeless poker player.
Beatrix is difficult because she’s been programmed to be both conservative and a bit of a bluffer. She’s definately NOT getting better hands unfairly. For me, it takes a long slow pace to beat her. I found a flaw in her that helps me get ahead. After the flop, if my hole has a pair with the highest flop card and Beatrix has a pair with one of the two lower cards, she’ll bet heavy and keep raising even though her pair is not the highest in the flop. Unless she gets a flush, double pair, or three of a kind with the fourth and fifth streets, she’s likely to lose the round. I typically win about $700 off of her this way in a single round. Also, I play conservative with her and only call when I have high cards and rarely raise in blinds. If I’m only losing $10-$40 per hand with an occasional $700 win, I eventually beat her. Anyone have a better strategy for Beatrix?
